My maverick is kept surging

This morning, I noticed something weird in my hybrid Maverick truck.

I drove a short distance on electric power before going up a small hill where the gas engine kicks in.

I've seen that the gas engine usually runs for about 3 minutes the first time it starts, probably to charge the battery and warm up.

But the other day, when I stopped at a red light after the gas engine had just started, the truck was surging. felt like it really wanted to run away, even though its foot was on the brake.

It felt like letting out the clutch in a manual car.

I had to press the brake harder and harder to keep it still and it happens more now

When I stop after the gas engine starts for the first time on a drive, it feels like the engine is trying to push the truck forward against the brakes.

After that first stop, it doesn't seem to do it anymore, but the gas engine isn't usually running when they stop later in the drive.

So, tell me guys, if anyone else with a hybrid Maverick has experienced this weird "pulling" feeling when I stopped after the gas engine first turned on.

Yeah, I read this issue before. IDK why I still pushed through with it because I've been reading lots of issues anyway. It's probably linked with the regenerative braking system interfering or something with the gas engine's torque. I got the CEL on my new Maverick and was so pissed. This is much worse!

Some hybrid Mavericks have been facing issues when switching from electric to gas power. Ford has addressed this with a software update (TSB 22-2124) for the PCM. Check with your dealership using your VIN to find out if your truck can get the update. If the problem persists, more diagnostics might be required.
