Looking at the possibility of a Maverick. Basic model hybrid probably if I do it.
A BIG concern is the center divider all the way to the dash.
Is there anyone or any way to get rid of it and re-position the shift knob. Really need open space in a vehicle, not shoe horned in like a jet pilot.
Don't know what goes through that plastic center piece - just that it is the deal killer for me.
If I can get rid of it and open the space in front of the seats to under the dash it would make the truck viable for me. Open, like the Honda CR-v models up through 2011 - or many of the F150 models.
Would really prefer crank windows, and Wind wings, but know that isn't reality these days. My 80's pickup has both - love it.
So, anyone know reality with cutting off or removing the center divider & moving the crazy knob shifter forward or to the dash area, maybe?
As I wrote, center divider is a complete deal killer. Even with a small hump I'm OK as long as the space is open to stretch out the legs. Willing to pay a custom shop to do it if that is what it takes, just trying to find out if it is realistic.
