Engine noise

First time owner of a Hybrid Lariat and the synthetic engine noise under 20mph is surprisingly loud. Is there any way to lower the noise of eliminate it completely? I get that it's probably required for safety in electric mode, but it's a bit much. We dont mind buying a part of anything just to turn the volume down

What's the point of mandating synthetic engine noise for safety if it's so obnoxious owners want to disable it, shouldn't drivers have some control over how their own car sounds?

I agree brother, thats why im here looking for advice on how to be in control of it. How do you handle such car noise? Any tip for me?

That fake engine noise is more annoying than helpful, it feels like automakers are solving problems that don't exist. Honestly, drivers should have the option to adjust or disable it, especially if we're willing to pay for it

It's ironic how EVs are praised for being quiet, yet we're forced to listen to fake engine noise nobody asked for. If pedestrians can't hear a car, maybe they shouldn't be staring at their phones

the fake engine sounds can feel unnecessary, especially when one of the big perks of EVs is the quiet ride . Some of them do let you turn it off, though. Out of curiosity, have you tried disabling it on yours, or is it one of those models that doesn't give you the option?

You said it yourself, safety. EVs are quiet, especially at low speeds, from the outside you won't even hear the tires are they roll, so it's difficult for people to hear them. It's annoyingg for some, but it's good to have for the people around you.
