I just got my hands on a 2024 LT hybrid, and I've been putting its fuel efficiency to the test with various ethanol blends. So far, I've experimented with regular 87 octane and mid-grade 89, which has 20% ethanol. I noticed a drop of around 2.4 mpg when I used the 20% blend, getting about 37.25 mpg compared to 39.2 mpg with the regular fuel. Even when I switched to synthetic oil (Mobile 1 0W-20), I saw a small bump in efficiency up to 40.08 mpg, still better than the standard fuel. With gas prices going down, using the higher ethanol blend isn't really worth the savings right now. In the past, I ran 30% ethanol in a Mercedes C250 turbo without any issues, but it seems like the 20% blend isn't beneficial in the Maverick. I'm also thinking about getting a K&N air filter, but I want to wait until the factory one gets a bit dirty first.
