This is my first time owning a hybrid, I've driven a few in the past, but never really paid too much attention. So I have a few questions about this. Can the maverick drive on electric power only? If so, under what conditions?

While writing this I had a wild idea that's probably not doable, but let's say it is. Can one add another battery pack? Again, wild idea and I'm sure it's not possible, but I had to ask.

It can absolutely drive on electric power only but it doesn't have a button or something similar for you to manually switch and run solely on EV mode.
But you can kinda influence it to run like that with just a light foot on the accelerator, especially at lower speeds.
The car's computer is always trying to be as efficient as possible, so if you're not demanding much power, it will prioritize electric drive.
You'll find it stays in EV mode a lot in parking lots, stop-and-go traffic, and when gently accelerating from a stop.
Try exploring your EV coach display so you can check when you're running on electric power and how much throttle you can apply before the gas engine kicks in!
And about adding another battery pack, I'm afraid it's not a practical or safe modification for a production hybrid like the Maverick.
The entire powertrain, electrical system, and safety features are precisely engineered for the existing battery setup.
Altering it significantly could lead to serious issues with performance, safety, and reliability.

Simple answer is, yes, the Maverick hybrid can run on electric-only at low speeds, light throttle, and flat roads... usually under 25 mph or so. As for adding another battery, cool idea but way more complicated than it's worth unless you're deep into EV modding. GL.

Running on an Interstate at 75mph on a slight downhill, mine goes into full electric for a bit.
