Seriously, went to three auto parts stores today, and all I got were blank stares and "we can order it for you" responses. You'd think the Maverick's been out long enough that an air filter wouldn't feel like a rare artifact. anyone by chance found a brand you trust online that actually ships fast? I'm trying to avoid waiting a week just to keep my MPG from tanking.

That's weird. I'm guessing you'll want to avoid the stealership, so you're going for aftermarket options. k&n has a filter if you're after those "sporty" things or you can check out ebay and order one to arrive at your doorstep

"Blank stares" ... so annoying. Check out brands like Motorcraft (OEM) or STP, they have filters that fit and usually ship quickly. Check availability on Amazon or AutoZone

Well my other car, also a Ford, had got the same issue and so I ended up grabbing a Motorcraft one from RockAuto. Showed up in two days and fit like a glove. :)

I had the same experience. Finally found a Purolator One A24278 on Ebay. It's rated very high in tests done on Youtube for filtering capacity, filtering efficiency, and build quality. Not sure why filters are near impossible to find in the auto parts store.
