My cousin has a '22 Maverick hybrid. He wants to jump start the car, but the 12V battery's dead

I'm confused if that's possible. He said he wants to use the car to travel accross the country while dragging a light camper in tow.

He got this 20KmAh power bank with him. He said it's possible and I don't have to worry haha

Is it true that this is possible, or he's just delusional?

Jumpstarting with a 20KmAh powerbank is viable if the powerbank has enough output to handle the 12V system. Does the powerbank have a peak current rating of at least 400amps? That's often the sweet spot for hybrids

Well, I guess as long as you got cables then you're all good. I think it works just like how you jump a car.

Please record your cousin while trying this and send us the video, his disappointment will be hilarious. A power bank has enough amps to charge a phone or a laptop, nowhere near the amount to start a dead car. Find another car and use jumper cables

Honestly, your cousin's a little delusional here. A 20,000mAh phone power bank won't start a car. The Maverick Hybrid needs a 12V battery to power up its systems and connect to the high-voltage battery. Without that, it just won't start.

He really should get a proper 12V jump starter, like a NOCO or something similar, which can provide a few hundred amps at 12V. Tell him to pick one up before his road trip, or he might find himself stuck somewhere nice.
