Getting a bit close to 800 miles on my XLT hybrid and just wondering if I should wait until it hits 1,200 miles before I stop being so careful with the break in period? Just to add, the gas engine has only run for about 400 miles. let me know what you all think! Thanks!

The 1,000-mile mark is generally the accepted recommendation for the break-in period.
Since you got a hybrid and your gas engine has only seen about 400 miles, I think it wouldn't hurt to continue taking it easy for a bit longer.

From the owner's manual,

BREAKING-IN Your vehicle requires a break-in period. For the first 1,600 km (1,000 mi), avoid driving at high speeds, heavy braking, aggressive shifting or using your vehicle to tow. During this time, your vehicle may exhibit some unusual driving characteristics.

man, with today's engines, the break in period isn't as big a deal as it used to be
A lot of folks say the engines are pretty much broken in at the factory.
But hey, since you're already being careful and only have 200 miles left to hit that 1000 mile mark, there's no harm in staying extra cautious for that last bit. And those 400 miles on the gas engine? That's a solid start!

Does it come filled with dinosaur oil, or Synthetic?
When we overhaul engines we always run Dino oil for breaking in and change it at 200 miles - with dino oil - and then switch to Mobil 1 after about 1200-1500 miles.
With the Mavericks, do they have a meter or record of how much time the engine actually runs so you can tell when it it time to change?

I am old school so I changed my oil and filter at 825 miles. Then changed it at 3000 miles. Will change again at 10,000 miles. I follow the advice of two guys I look up to for oil advice. My dad and Lake Speed Jr. Lake has a lot of oil related videos on Youtube.
