high revs going downhill on Maverick Hybrid normal?

I'm hoping this is just something normal. My 2023 Maverick Hybrid is revving really high when going downhill. The charge dial looks fine, but the engine keeps screaming, even when it's in neutral. It feels like something's pushing those RPMs up. I'm thinking about running a diagnostic to see if there are any codes. Has anyone else experienced this with their Hybrid?

What you're noticing is pretty standard for the 2023 Maverick Hybrid. When you're going downhill with a full battery, the engine revs a bit to help with braking and keep from overcharging. Even if you're in nuetral, the RPMs can stay up because that's how it's set up. If you want to lessen the regenerative braking, you can switch to "Slippery" mode or gently press the gas, but that could affect your efficeincy. It's a smart idea to run a diagnostic,if there are no error codes and it drives alright, then you're good to go.

It's usually just the system doing its thing, you could run a diagnostics not a bad idea but I've seen other owners mention the same thing and no issues showed up. Definitely let us know if you find anything

It's called engine braking and is normal. It's better than what most people do in normal cars, which is coasting in neutral and riding the brakes. It's normal and the ecu is controling everything, so you don't have to worry about it.

If you're really losing sleep over this you can take it to the dealer and ask or have it scanned, but you won't find anything wrong.
